70%
Of what an AI company pays each time it buys your bug. Usually $1.40–$7.00 per sale.
Price shown first
When a company asks for a specific kind of bug, you see exactly what you'll get before you start.
All money is paid in dollars. You also collect points, which show how much good data you've contributed. Points are a score, not money.
AI companies buy real failures to test and improve their AI. Each time your bug is bought, you get 70% of what was paid. A bug can sell many times to different companies, or never.
| Stars | A company pays | You get |
|---|---|---|
| ★★★★★ | $10.00 | $7.00 |
| ★★★★★ | $5.00 | $3.50 |
| ★★★★★ | $2.00 | $1.40 |
Big buyers sometimes get a discount. Then everyone in that purchase shares 70% of what the company actually paid, split by stars, so a 5-star bug always gets twice as much as a 4-star one.
Example: a company buys 100 bugs at 30% off. Everyone's share is 30% lower than the table above, so a 5-star bug earns $4.90 instead of $7.00. Everyone is treated the same way.
If two bugs in the same purchase are near-identical, the one sent first gets its full share and the copy gets a quarter.
Sometimes a company has already paid for a set number of bugs of a particular kind. You'll see it under Wanted right now on your dashboard with the exact amount, for example “$28 per accepted trace · 7 left”. If your bug matches, gets enough stars and spots are left, it's sold to that company and the money is added to your balance right away.
The same list can also show points bounties, which add extra points (for example “+100 points”) when a matching bug is approved.
Points show how much good data you've contributed. Better bugs earn more:
| Stars | Points |
|---|---|
| ★★★★★ | 250 |
| ★★★★★ | 100 |
| ★★★★★ | 50 |
| ★★★★★ or ★★★★★ | 25 |
Some approved bugs earn a few dollars over time as they sell, and some never sell. Paid requests are the way to earn tens of dollars for a single bug. We can't promise any bug will sell, so every dollar amount you see before a sale is an estimate.
Money from sales and paid requests goes into your cash balance on the dashboard. FailGold pays you, not the company. Once your balance reaches $10, you can ask for a payout. If a company gets a refund, the money it paid for your bug is taken back out of your balance.
No. What you earn depends on the stars a reviewer gives it and on how many companies buy it. Paid requests show their exact amount before you start.
No. Points are a score that shows your contribution. All money comes from sales and paid requests, in dollars.
They show how much good data you've contributed (25 to 250 per approved bug, more for better ones), and they're how bounties and invites reward you.
It was turned down (for example, it wasn't really an AI mistake, or it repeated someone else's), or it hasn't sold yet.
